07 November 2018 - 12:43 AM

I am securing my Wordpress installations with fail2ban on server level. Very happy with it, and it takes quite a bit of stress off the apache server.

Now I am looking how I can secure my X2 installation. Anyone has some opions on this ?

please help with use-case : building contact list based on account criteria

01 November 2018 - 11:40 PM

I guess there is no real easy solution to the problem I face, and I would welcome your ideas and suggestions.

Situation is this : We are a very small company making home decoration objects. We mostly do wholesale, and our typical customers are small gift stores, interior designers, floral art stores and a very few bigger retailers. We find these customers at trade-shows, mostly. I also scour the internet and add companies that I intend to pitch by phone or email.

So what I have are Accounts-only (sourced from the internet), Accounts+Contacts (customers or potential customers, sourced from the trade-shows) and Contact-only (one-person companies or freelancers).

And we have different product categories ; not all customer types buy all products.

So what I want, in simple SQL, is to create lists that I could use for sending out emails :

- select contact.email where account.type = "floral";

- select account.email where account.type = "online-store" and contact.email=""; (or no contact at all)

- select contact.email where account.interested_in = "lampshade";

I basically have the problem that information is dispersed over Account and Contact. The only solution I see is to copy "lampshade" to Contact, but that doesn't make much sense, does it ?

Thanks for how you handle this, I can hardly believe that my case is unique.

Slack hangout ?

Just wondering : Is there a place, on Slack or elsewhere, where X2 users hang out ?

Would be nice meeting you more directly.

Identifying accounts without contacts

13 May 2018 - 01:11 PM

I have a couple of accounts where I don't yet have any contact person. I have entered them to pitch them later, but now I can't seem to find a way to identify them. I somehow overlooked that there isn't a "List" feature for accounts.

On a similar sheet : I have entered the company email address (often info@... or office@...) with the idea to send pitch emails. I guess these are useless as well? Or someone has some clever idea to bring them over into a campaign?

Thanks much,

Dynamic list on dropdown field

05 May 2018 - 04:37 AM

Guys, trying to understand the logic : I have a multi-select dropdown-field that contains the product range. Now I want to create a dynamic list with all contacts having a certain value.

The only way I found this to work is to invert the condition. Is that expected behaviour ?

In the screen-capture attached, the dyn-list has all "objets" contacts, contrary to what the condition says. Or ?
