Hi there!

Would love to see a VAT implementation on products/quote module. It's the only missing reagent I think to be completed.

Or is there a way to edit the table appeared on "{Quote.lineItems}"and add it manually? (it has to pull the vat percentage from the product though).

Cheers

One could add VAT, assuming it is a percentage-based tax that applies to all items, as an "adjustment" type of line item (see the "Add Adjustment" button on the quotes create/update form). Giving the adjustment an appropriate name is up to the user. Otherwise it must be added as a per-line-item adjustment.

As for the line items table's appearance: it is hard-coded, and there is not yet a way to customize its exact appearance.

still the exact total vat amount should be appeard somewhere..

with a percentage on adjustment field, it will auto-calculate vat successfully, but it will be only shown summed within total amount.

seems the only way is the manual calculation for now.

thanks for suggestions anyway.

I have an idea that could be implemented. If one wants to have per-item VAT, might it suffice to make a new field for it in the products model, then have that field go into the adjustment field on the line item when it is added to a quote?

crossed my mind too, but it should show seperate, vat amount & vat percentage (2 columns), so that you could sum up the total vat amount which is required to be visible in order to have a valid invoice, at least for european union >.>

a vaid invoice has to include

line item -> item description - quantity - price w/o vat - vat % - vat amount - price with vat

totals ----->    --total price w/o vat - total vat amount of each [x vat%] - total price with vat

inline vat could be skipped if the vat% is the same for all products or products could be groupped per vat% and show a total vat ammount.

Hi x2engine team!

How much would it cost to add that VAT functionality in?

Thanks,

Robert Keir

Was any progress ever made on this?

Is there a bounty to see what level of interest there would be?

We've been using x2 for a while now and its wonderful! x2engine does not have any plans for this yet for VAT. I was wondering if there can be some php code that could be added into the quote template that will at least work out the total value of the items and then put the vat in as a percentage of the value. In RSA its 14%.

I'm going to make the amendments to calculate VAT, VAT table with descriptions and rates, VAT rate at the product level and then VAT handling within quotations and invoices.

I'll post the amendments when they are done, I'm actually on holiday for the next two weeks but I'll see if I get time to do some of this before I fly out.

Steve

Hi Steve,

Thanks so much! It will be very cool if you could do that. :-)

Thanks,
