Hello,

Dear community, i have been trying to install the x2crm engine on Ehosts shared web hosting, however i keep getting the following error

(ssh2 extension: required but missing. The FileUtil class needs the SSH2 extension to use SSH as a file operation method.)

however based on their support and the website

https://support.ehos...le-technologies/it states that the technology is supported.

please advice on how to resolve the issue.

I get the same error on my installation, despite having ssh2 installed. I haven't come across any issues with running the system despite the error.

it say's fileutil, what is this feature used for and will it have any side effects while running the system?

are there any other alternatives? to have the system work? pre-installation?

am using ver 6.9.3

i have came across
http://phpseclib.sourceforge.net/

which based on a community site claims to be a work around for ssh2 on shared servers. using the following

<?php
include('Net/SSH2.php');

$ssh = new Net_SSH2("domain name");
if (!$ssh->login("username", "password")) {
    exit('Login Failed');
}

echo $ssh->exec('ls -la');
?>

how could we implement this to be integrated with fileutil and / or any other extensions that do require the SSH2 php to be enabled.

regards.

I would look for a better host. Sounds like the server is setup incorrectly.

i have discussed it with the support team, this seems to be a common issue in shared hosting, Based on the support they claim that SSH2 is enabled however the PHP functionality is not enabled.

at this point migrating to a different host is not an option as the downtime and investment is huge.

i would like the community professionals to assist with this matter

regards.

Hey all,

That is a common error message when installing X2CRM, just continue the installation. The log for that error might be being cached somewhere.

Dear Mr. Solomon

I have even attempted to use the requirements file and it seems to result in the same issue.

Will the fileutil  cause any obstacles with  overall functionality of the engine, and why has it been classified as critical.

if so, are there any alternatives to find a way around the matter.

in your opinion as a software engineer can the upper code be embedded to the current engine as an alternative for hosts that does not have the SSH2 php function enabled

Regards.
